Lake Natron Safari: Flamingos

About Lake Natron

Lake Natron is the breedinggrounds to millions of flamingoes which migrate to Lake Nakuru, Lake Bogoria and Lake Magadi. The lake which lies at the boarder of Kenya and Tanzania is an amazing destination to bird watchers as millions of flamingoes spread across the entire lake forming a pink skyline to the horizons. When totally silent, you will hear the squeaking-noise of the birds in millions.

Hill Of Red Roses

A view point of the lake known as the hill of desert red roses can be accessed by hiking to the top. A breathtaking view of the flamingoes at a distance, river EwasoNgiro snaking its way to the Lake through the green grassland with wildlife scattered across the valley is a camera shot not to miss!
Safari to Lake Magadi can be organized for individuals and groups with overnight stays at Lake Magadi or better still camping at the shores of the Lake Natron. Accessibility and the road status to lake Natron from Shompole past lake Magadi is dusty and rocky at some point and only four wheel drive and land cruisers can access with no so much trouble. Having a local tour guide from around the area is highly recommended.
